De tierras muy lejanas y frías nos trasladamos a territorios más al sur de Europa, donde alguna vez se formó el más grande imperio de Occidente. La península Itálica es el hogar de vastas plantaciones de olivo, trigo, tierras que formaron uno de los mejores carros del mundo y el que engendra bellas mujeres. Italia es el hogar de esta banda de Power Metal Sinfónico “Rhapsody”.
Recuerdo haber deseado tener todos los discos de esta banda. Y en parte lo cumplí. Luego de mucho tiempo, cambios y cosas que suceden en la vida dejé de escuchar su música por un largo tiempo. Hace poco busqué mis discos los volví a escuchar y buscando me enteré que habían sacado un DVD en concierto y que habían cambiado el nombre de la banda, todo esto junto al lanzamiento de su nuevo disco.
Rhapsody Of Fire
Formada en el año 1997 estos italianos han sabido combinar bellas melodías medievales junto a un gran misticismo de dragones, héroes, villanos y castillos. Todo esto en la rapidez y nostalgia del ala más melódica del Power Metal.
Rhapsody cambió su nombre, recientemente, al de “Rhapsody Of Fire”. Todo esto por el “Copyright” y un paso en la evolución de la banda, ellos dicen sentirse mejor asociados al nuevo nombre, ya sea por las nuevas motivaciones de sus composiciones como por la disquera que los produce “Magic Circle Music”.

El video que elegí de ellos fue del tema en vivo “Holy Thunderforce” que pertenece al disco “Dawn Of Victory” lanzado al mercado el año 2000. Este disco está cargado de mucha ira, batallas, y una lucha interminable del bien y el mal. Cabe recordar que todos los discos en conjunto cuentan una gran historia, la del Guerrero de Hielo y su lucha contra las huestes del mal y su busca de la espada esmeralda. La primera gran compilación de historias llevan de nombre “The Emerald Sword Saga” que comprenden los 5 primeros discos, para luego pasar al más reciente “Symphony Of Enchanted Lands II: The Dark Secret” que tuvo como invitado al conocido actor Christopher Lee. Pero la historia no acaba allí, en el 2006 sacaron un nuevo disco “Triumph Or Agony”. Ahora se encuentran de descanso tras una agotadora gira a comienzos del año 2007. El video tiene una muy buena calidad de audio, demostrando cuán buen grupo es, demostrandolo no tanto en la edición de sus discos si no también en su performance en vivo. La voz de Fabio Lione demsotrando una vez más cuán exelente cantante es.
